Description
"White Pelican Takeoff" by Patti Deters. A Great White Pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) takes flight off the shoreline of Boy Lake in northern Minnesota, near the town of Riemer. These huge birds are beautiful to see and amazing to watch as they fly out from the shore and over the water. Although these large white water birds appear awkward when on land, they are graceful and beautiful when in the water or in flight and can fly for an entire day and night going up to 300 miles without rest. If you like this wildlife nature photograph, please share or see my main image gallery (birds, waterscapes, outdoor, more) at patti-deters.pixels.com.
