"Trumpeter Swan Fly By" by Patti Deters. A large white Trumpeter Swan (Cygnus buccinator) is seen with her wings spread, preparing to land in the misty cold water of the St. Croix River on a dark winter morning. There are several more swans just to camera left but it looks as if she is doing a fly by past the ducks and swans that are settled near the snow covered island. Winter is a great time to view these beautiful birds as they tend to come closer to shore in areas where the water isn't frozen. Hi! My artwork is photography of all things nature, especially wildlife, flowers, and landscapes. Many of the flowers and wildlife images are from my local area around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Others are from photo trips taken with my husband of 40+ years. Some of the images are what I like to call "documentary art" - that is, I capture the best photos from wherever I am and then enhance them - sometimes a little, sometimes a lot - to make my own kind of "real life" art. Other images are more digital and simple, and those tend to portray the softer side of nature.
