Description
"Blue-winged Teal Watercolor Reflection" by Patti Deters. Blue-winged teal (Spatula discors) are the second smallest duck in North America and are easy to identify when in flight because of their bright blue wing patches and white stripe on their face, as you can see in this male duck. They thrive in marsh and wetland conditions, and are considered long-distance migrants. This painterly watercolor background is a good example of the habitat these ducks prefer.
