This colorful and tropical saltwater angelfish is the Bermuda Blue Angelfish (Holacanthus bermudensis) found in nature in warm western Atlantic Ocean waters as well as near Bermuda in the Bahamas. Blue Angelfish are a benthic species usually found near the bottom at depths from 5 to over 300 feet in areas with live rock, corals, and sponge growth, though most of us see them a specimens in an aquarium. Blue Angelfish (and the closely related Queen Angelfish) are hermaphroditic and have no distinguishing markings between males and females. Blue angelfish aka Bermuda blue angelfish is a species of marine ray-finned fish, belonging to the family Pomacanthidae.
