"Red Fox Kit - Pauses for the Camera" by Patti Deters. A young Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) pauses in her play to look directly at the camera as she notices someone is taking her picture. This baby fox is part of a larger litter and is probably about 8 weeks old. Kits this size start to wander a bit farther from the den. On this red fox species, her red fur is offset by black on the ears and black lower legs. A subtle background texture has been applied to remove distractions and for artistic effect.
