"Americana Straw Farmer" by Patti Deters. Here is a giant happy farmer statue made from straw bales or perhaps hay bales. Standing at the crest of a hill, the farmer appears to be looking out and smiling at everything in the countryside. His red shirt and denim overalls complete the effect. The huge creative statue was constructed for Halloween as you can tell by the drying grasses in the field, but it is a beautiful late summer day with clouds in the sky and a flock of birds in the background. Hi! My artwork is photography of all things nature, especially wildlife, flowers, and landscapes. Many of the flowers and wildlife images are from my local area around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Others are from photo trips taken with my husband of 40+ years. Some of the images are what I like to call "documentary art" - that is, I capture the best photos from wherever I am and then enhance them - sometimes a little, sometimes a lot - to make my own kind of "real life" art. Other images are more digital and simple, and those tend to portray the softer side of nature.
