Description
"Hellebore Pair in the Spring Garden" by Patti Deters. This close-up pair of two yellow Hellebores (Helleborus) is from a Minnesota spring garden. These rose-like flowers appear around the time of Lent and the blooms are really the sepals and they last for several months. They are perennial plants in the garden (they come back every year) and love being planted in part shade in rich soil. They are small plants and have nodding flower heads that face a bit downward. You might also know these pretty blooms by the common name of Lenten Rose. If you like this outdoor flora photo, please see botanical, nature, macro, and more at patti-deters.pixels.com.
