"Great White Egret Windy Day" by Patti Deters. The beautiful and feathery breeding plumage and green eye color make the Great White Egret (Ardea alba egretta) makes these birds a treat to observe in the spring during courtship, mating, and nesting season. In this photograph, the long white feathers (aigrettes) are blowing in the wind giving the large white bird an extra fluffy look, and probably makes it a bit more difficult for her to stay perched in the pine tree. Hi! My artwork is photography of all things nature, especially wildlife, flowers, and landscapes. Many of the flowers and wildlife images are from my local area around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Others are from photo trips taken with my husband of 40+ years. Some of the images are what I like to call "documentary art" - that is, I capture the best photos from wherever I am and then enhance them - sometimes a little, sometimes a lot - to make my own kind of "real life" art. Other images are more digital and simple, and those tend to portray the softer side of nature.
