Description
"Smoky Sky from Canada Wildfires" by Patti Deters. The sun had not yet set, but smoke in the air from nearby wildfires turned the sun into an orange ball and gave the entire sky the look of a sunset even though it was early afternoon! This was photographed near Pakwash Lake Camp in Pakwash Provincial Park in the Kenora District of Ontario, Canada near Balmertown. It's a about halfway between Ear Falls and Red Lake and is a beautiful scenic wilderness area even without the added dramatic sky from the Canadian wildfires. The lake water and sky were such a virbant orange, with the smoky sky filtering the sun. This image has a vertical crop.
