“Magnolia Opening – Spring Texture” by Patti Deters. Magnolias are beautiful flowers, and the underneath or back side is also, as you can see by this purple pink bud is opening up with the spring weather. Deciduous magnolia trees have a unique charm in the early spring season with beauty and interest to rival flowering cherries. Magnolias flower before the leaves emerge, welcoming spring with huge lightly scented blooms. This particular spring pink bud was photographed in Wilmington, North Carolina.
