These mammals are the largest land animals on earth and are know for their intelligent behavior and peaceful nature. The saying, “An elephant never forgets”, is based on the fact that this matriarchal leader can remember water and food sources discovered decades ago, allowing them to be very adaptable to changes in food and water sources.
