Description
"Death Valley Salt Flats” by Patti Deters. A close up (macro) photograph of the white, dry Badwater Salt Flats in Death Valley Nation Park, Nevada. Badwater Basin is the lowerst point in North America and over 200 square miles and was once the site of an inland lake. With no outlet, the salt accumulated and then eventually evaporated leaving behind the salt deposits. Water rises up through the salt deposits and evaporates forming interesting geometric / abstract landscapes. Truly a beautiful and amazing place to visit.
