"American Redstart 2 of 3" by Patti Deters. This American Redstart songbird was seen in Minnesota during spring migration. These little guys flit and fly very fast, not sitting still for very long - so they are extremely hard to photograph! With the orange and black feathers, you might think of an Oriole, but the Redstart is a type of warbler and much smaller. Did you know that "start" is an old word for tail?
