"Trumpeter Swan - Safe Place" by Patti Deters. This close up of a Trumpeter Swan preening under its wing in the morning light was taken very early in the morning. This swan seemed to have a hard time waking up as she would preen for a bit, then go back to sleep for a few minutes, wake up, then preen again. She was very beautiful to watch and I hope you enjoy this photograph as much as I did capturing the image. It was taken on a very cold day in Hudson, Wisconsin.
