Description
"Roseate Spoonbill Pink Sun Flare" by Patti Deters. This Roseate Spoonbill (Platalea ajaja) is walking in the grasses along the waters edge, perhaps foraging or looking for a nest. These waterfowl are easily identified by their long neck and long flat beak that they use to dig in the river muck - much like we would use a spoon, and of course the pink color of their feathers. They really are quite entertaining and fun to watch if you can find them - wildlife at it finest! A blurred sun flare background has been applied for artistic effect. If you like this artistic wildlife photograph, please see more (water birds, nature, textured) at patti-deters.pixels.com.
