"Barn Swallow on Rope I" by Patti Deters. This barn swallow (Hirundo rustica) was sitting on the walkway rope at Horicon March, Wisconsin and let me get very close before flying away - and he watched me closely the entire time. These little songbirds fly super fast and rarely stay in one spot for very long, so it was a happy surprise to have this one sit still long enough to pose for a portrait.
